Ambassador of the Italian Republic in the United Arab Emirates
After receiving his degree in Political Science from LUISS University in Rome, he joined in February 1990 the diplomatic service and was assigned to the Sub-Saharan Africa Desk in the Department of Political Affairs of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In November 1992 he moved to the Embassy of Italy in Nicosia, Cyprus, as Deputy Head of Mission.
In January 1997 he was designated Chief of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Italian Embassy in Rabat, Morocco, with an extended competence to the Cooperation and Development bilateral Program.
In February 2000 he was back to Rome as Advisor for International Affairs to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific and Technological Research.
In June 2001 he was appointed to the Unit for Relations with Parliament in the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rome.
In August 2002 he was assigned to the Embassy of Italy in Moscow as First Counselor and Chief of the Press Office.
On August 28, 2006 he was Consul General of Italy in Boston with jurisdiction over the States of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
In October 2010, Stellino was sent to Milan as Advisor to the Governor of Lombardy for International Relations and, from January 2011, also as Diplomatic Advisor to the Commissioner General for EXPO Milan 2015.
After his promotion to the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary (2012), he was back to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome to head the Unit for Russian Federation, Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia, at the Directorate General for Political and Security Affairs.
On June 29, 2015, he was appointed Ambassador of Italy to UAE.
